Blockout banners for double-sided printing

Our range of blockout banners is the optimal choice for double-sided printing and applications where high levels of natural or artificial lighting can affect the sharpness and colour accuracy of the finished banner, or where the graphic needs to be viewed from both sides.

Made from heavy-duty PVC with a membrane that stops light from penetrating them, our blockout banners are extremely durable and available in weights up to 750g/m2 and in rolls up to 5m wide for large-format printing.

You can specify 550 gsm and 750 gsm materials for heavyweight performance that will last for years. Our blockout banners are also fire rated to B1 certification and are compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, UV, and latex printing processes.

For the best print quality, look for maximum smoothness with banner materials like Vistaflex BL550 and BL750.

Because blockout banners are designed to be printed on both sides, they are a fantastic option for signage and advertisements in public areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are blockout banner materials?

Blockout banners are PVC banners for double-sided printing. They sometimes have a black screen sandwiched between two layers of smooth PVC, ensuring no light penetration while providing an optimal surface for printing.

What are blockout banners made from?

Blockout banners are usually made from PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Most blockout banners have a light-stop material in the middle made from PET (polyethene). PVC/PET are two of the most durable banner materials in the world. We also offer more eco-friendly blockout materials in our Envirotech range.

What are the different types of blockout banner materials?

Blockout banners are available in multiple weights, with lighter materials more suited to indoor and small applications. For example, Vistaflex BL550 weighs 550g/m2, while Vistaflex BL750 weighs 750g/m2 (the latter is best for large media or lamp post banners).

What are the applications of blockout banners?

Blockout banners are the best choice for double-sided media, including lamp poster banners, suspended signs, advertisements. They are particularly useful on the high street and inside shopping centres to highlight different shops.

How to install blockout banners?

Blockout banners can be hemmed and eyeleted suitable for installation with rope and cable ties. Lamp post banners on the other hand require a pocket at the top and bottom of the graphic to allow the poles to slide through.
