What is high-tack vinyl?
It is a permanent vinyl designed for installation on tricky surfaces like brick and low-energy plastics like polycarbonate. It has a solvent based adhesive with unique polymers that form a powerful bond.
What is high-tack vinyl made from?
Whether monomeric or polymeric, most high-tack vinyl is made from flexible PVC (polyvinyl chloride). The adhesive forms the bond, perfect for low-energy and rough surfaces.
What types of high-tack vinyl are available?
We stock monomeric and polymeric versions of these vinyls with white or grey backs, gloss and matte finishes, and air escape adhesive versions. You can also get fire-rated high-tack vinyl and blackback vinyl for absolute opacity.
What are the applications of high-tack vinyl?
It sticks to low-energy plastics, glass, uneven surfaces, dirty surfaces, rough surfaces like walls, composites, masonry, and flexible surfaces like polypropylene, making it ideal for signs, stickers, and graphics that demand longevity.
How to install high-tack vinyl
Remove the backing liner from the vinyl and clean the substrate as best as possible. Stick the centre of the vinyl to the substrate, and with a squeegee, work it into the substrate with 45-degree strokes, using a heat gun to improve flexibility and conformability. It is extremely difficult to remove once applied so be sure to double check your placement before committing!
